About Encorium: barrier-repair skincare, made in Malaysia

Encorium is a Malaysian skincare brand for women whose skin has become sensitive. Founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2021, we make barrier-repair skincare with high-percentage extracts in place of water, and actives at concentrations that make sense.

When your skin starts to react

Maybe it stings when it never used to. The redness takes longer to fade. Your skin feels tight and dry after a strong serum, a peel or a clinic treatment.

Often, the cause is a weakened skin barrier. It can happen with age, stress, hormones, or simply too many strong products. Encorium is made to help your barrier get stronger, gently.

Most skincare starts with water. Ours starts with extracts.

In most skincare, water is the first ingredient. It carries the actives but does little for your skin on its own. In most Encorium formulas, an extract takes that place, so the base itself is working for your skin.

Actives that make sense

Many brands compete on ever-higher percentages. We don't. We use natural and synthetic actives, chosen for what works. Each is used at a concentration high enough for visible results and gentle enough for a weakened barrier.

Many of our key ingredients have long histories in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Shikon root (zǐcǎo) and snow mushroom (yín'ěr) come from TCM. Centella (pegaga) and bitter melon (Kaarvellakah) seed oil have deep roots in Ayurveda.

Frequently asked questions

Is Encorium suitable for sensitive skin?

Every Encorium formula is made to be gentle on a weakened skin barrier. Everyone's skin is different, so we suggest a patch test on your inner arm or jawline before first use.

Does Encorium contain water?

In most of our products, an extract replaces water as the main base. Some formulas still include a little water, which is shown on the ingredient list. We never claim our products are water-free.

Is Encorium a natural skincare brand?

No. We use natural and synthetic actives, chosen for what works. Our approach is science, informed by TCM and Ayurvedic wisdom.

Can I use Encorium after a clinic treatment, or alongside strong actives like retinol?

Many of our customers come to us when their skin feels over-treated. If you've just had a procedure, follow your clinician's aftercare advice and ask them before adding new products.
